'Tis Me (Yeh-hez-kel)
Currently, I'm a Product Designer at The New York Times, working on Ink, the design system for internal tools. Concurrently, I work on publishing tools at The Times, making the platforms that writers and editors use to create and share today's news with the world. Prior to that, I was a product designer in NYT Cooking, pairing with food editors and engineers to make it easier to write, curate, and publish recipe collecitons. Additionally, I refreshed refresh Cooking's homepage and created the step-by-step recipe content template. In the past I worked as a design consultant, helping major companies understand emergent trends and societal changes and create new products and strategies as a result of them. I worked Starbucks, Campbells, FedEx, a zillion banks, and even a few cute startups.
You can often find me hacking away on my computer at a window in my apartment in Brooklyn, drinking copious amounts of cold brew, sweating it out at Barry's and reading about art, theory, queerness, futures, and especially design.
I like to conceive of new ideas and bring them to life through design. I approach my client work and side projects as one practice— working to create ideas that are simple, yet provoking. I work at the intersection of brand, concept, and product.
